Finding Peace

The wind blows.

The force of wind
can be unsettling
at times.

Is it the noise,
the din,
of this roaring force
that draws your
attention –
as you listen
to the wind
as it picks up speed –
only to then slow down?

Is it the
unpredictable nature
of wind –
the erratic behavior
of bursts of energy –
as gusts of wind
rise up,
seemingly out of nowhere,
to rattle window screens,
shaking everything up
before diminishing
once again?

And then there are
sustaining winds,
emitting a low roar
that your ears begin
to filter out –
but that carry with it
biting air
that has you
pulling in your coat
for warmth as you
try to block out
the wind.

But does not wind
serve its purpose well –
does it not push forward
steams of air
that create
and move the atmosphere,
to bring needed rain,
or parts the clouds,
so the sun may warm
and melt the winter snow?

And does not wind’s force
shake out what is ready
to be discarded –
is it not a natural pruner,
as sticks and limbs
break off to allow
new growth to occur?

And when wind
has calmed –
is that not when
you remember
the peace and quiet
that follows
the noise,
the din,
the force of the wind?

Do you not need
to experience
the bluster
of any force,
to appreciate
its absence –
is this not the
calm before
or after the storm?

Brace yourself
when winds appear.
Gather together
to fend off the storm.
Be grateful
for the wind
that helps you
appreciate
the stillness,
the peace,
the calm.

And how to find peace
when the winds are blowing?

Go inside.
Be the eye
of the storm.
As you go to
your center –
may you find
the Love,
the Peace,
that is always within.

You Are the shelter
you wish to seek.

You Are Peace.
You Are Love.
There is calm.

Pinnacle of Love

“Climb every mountain . . . ”

And does not this
line from a song
bring forth a sense
of strength,
of courage,
that it must take
to achieve the feat
of climbing to the top
of a summit,
a crest,
a pinnacle –
and to do it again
and again?

And is this not the
language that you may use –
to “conquer” a mountain;
as if climbing to the top
is not only proof
that you have enough
strength and courage –
but that you have achieved
a feat by adding
this mountain to your
list of accomplishments?

But is there not
another way
of experiencing
climbing to the
top of a mountain?

Can you not take
a meandering trail
that allows you to see
and experience
your surroundings –
as you slowly
gain altitude,
stopping to look and enjoy
where you are
at any given moment?

And when you arrive
at the top of the mountain –
are you not gifted
with beautiful views,
a different perspective,
from where you began?
Do you not wish
to take your time
to soak up the gifts that
the mountain may share?

And though you may think
that it takes a special
expedition or journey
to physically place
yourself up on
a mountain –
where you may
find peace
and a higher perspective –
have you not just now
traveled in your mind’s eye
to the summit,
the crest,
the pinnacle
of what a higher perspective
looks like to you?

And is this experience
something to achieve,
a place to “conquer”,
to reach the pinnacle –
or might you return
to this Place of Peace –
stopping to look and enjoy
where you are
at any given moment?

Will you not be gifted
with beautiful views
and a different perspective
from where you began?

You need not
“climb every mountain”
to reach the awareness
of Who You Are.
You already have the
Strength and Courage
to see that You Are
a Pinnacle of Love.

Soak up the
Gifts of Love
that you experience
along the way
to You.

Flight of Joy

20170212-xpicture

2/12/17

Free yourself.

Do you not look
at a bird in flight –
soaring,
flying,
gliding
with apparent ease –
so free,
so light,
in the flow
of the air,
making minor adjustments
to stay in this flow –
do you not see
freedom
in this bird in flight?

And as you wish
to be free yourself –
might you
wish to capture
what you see
in the bird –
is it not Joy
that must be present
in this state of flight –
for has not your heart
leapt with Joy
as you watch
the freedom
of the bird?

And in your search
to capture joy –
might you have tried
a variety of things
that promised you joy
if you only had it
in your possession?

And as you wish
to free yourself,
as you attempt to fly –
do you not feel
the heaviness of
what may be
tying you down,
making it hard
to let go and fly?

Free yourself.

Is there not a
freeing energy
to Joy?

And you can never
capture Joy –
for is Joy
not already
Who You Are?

Is not Joy the
“wind beneath your wings?”

What makes you soar,
fly,
glide
with apparent ease?
Can you release
your burdens
and cut the ties
that may weigh you down,
obscuring the Joy
that is ready
to lift you up?

Fly in the
freeing energy
of Joy –
do you not see
freedom
in this Flight of Joy?

And as you experience
the essence of
the Joy That You Are –
do you not see
that you have had
the wings to fly
all along?

Free yourself.
Be Joy.
Soar.

Remember Love

2/03/17

Who doesn’t want,
need,
desire,
to be loved?

And are there
not many ways
and manipulations
that you may
go through
in order to
receive the love
you wish to attract?

And does this
form of love
that is desired
not come from
a place of lack –
of something missing?

And as we remind
you of the
Love That You Are –
that You Are
so very Loved
at all times,
as You Are Love –
are there not
times when you may feel
less than loving
whilst living in this
world of duality?

Do you not sometimes
want,
need,
desire,
to “make” another
more loving,
more caring,
more compassionate?

But as your soul’s purpose
here on earth
is to Love
and to Be
the Love That You Are –
can you turn up
your light
to be a beacon of Light,
of Love,
of Hope –
standing up in the darkness
so that others may see –
this is what Love
looks like.

Be fierce with this Love
by leading the charge,
to shine light on the darkness –
and how best to shine?
Be the Light That You Are.
Be the Love That You Are.

You need not defend
the Truth of Love –
as there is no opposite
to Love.

Be That Which You Are.
Let Love guide
each action you take.
Be the voice.
Be the action.
Be the model
for Love.

Be a reminder to all
that Love resides
in Every One of You.

May the Love That You Are
remind another
that they are
so very loved.

Be loving.
Be caring.
Be compassionate.

Be a Reminder of Love
and remember
Who You Are.
Love.

Garden of Your Soul

20170131-xpicture

1/31/17

A spindly bush
has limbs
and branches
that begin
to grow haphazardly,
with some
limbs not getting
enough light
so it may grow
and flourish.

And do you not
with gentle care
look at the bush
with an objective eye
and with love
begin to prune
away what no longer
serves the bush –
cutting away the
limbs that do not
bring nourishment
or add to the health
of this plant –
letting the limbs
be absorbed back to
the earth?

And is it not
amazing to see
when growth returns
to the place you cut –
is there not usually
a multitude of
fresh new starts,
that emerge from
a single limb,
filling out the bush
as it flourishes and grows?

And do you not
with gentle love,
look within
with an objective eye –
and with Love
begin to prune away
what no longer
serves your spirit –
letting what does not
bring nourishment
and light
to your soul
fall away to be
absorbed back to
the earth?

And is it not
amazing to see
new growth begin
where now there is
room and space
for Love and Light
to nourish the growth
and to see what
shape it takes?

Tend to the
ever-evolving
Garden of your Soul
with loving hands
as you pull away
what you may have
outgrown –
as you make room
for what Love continues
to create within You.

Nourish.
Grow.
Flourish in the
Love That You Are.

Snow Angels

20170127-xpicture

1/27/17

Snowflakes fall
on a winter’s night –
they may pile up
turning the landscape white.
Do not adults groan
and wonder about
roads, driveways and cold?

But children squeal,
scream in delight,
wanting to go outside
to roll and play
making angels in
the fluffy snow –
are they not in
the Moment of Joy?

A beloved dog
wants to go outside
with fur thick for cold –
she wants to play
in the cold white snow –
she runs around
in a joyful dance,
her favorite thing
is to roll and play
making angels in
the cold wet snow –
is she not in
the Moment of Joy?

And does it not
bring you joy –
to see the joy
that children and
your beloved pets
so fully emulate;
using everyday miracles
to express their Joy.

And do you see
You Are the miracle
that you wish to see
in angels in the snow?

The miracle of
Love Divine
flows through You.

So when Joy
is hard to sense –
let Gratitude in
to fill your heart.
Can you emulate the Joy
of the child or pet –
and make angels
wherever you are?

As you visualize
making angels
in the snow –
can you not
feel the Joy
and Love
That You Are?

Let the Angel of Love
remind you to
express each
Moment of Joy,
Gratitude,
Love.

The Miracle of Joy
is the Miracle of You.

Be the Miracle of Love.

Balance of Life

20170123-xpicture

1/23/17

Black and white.
Light and dark.
Up and down.
And does not
the yin yang symbol
represent the balance
of duality
that exists in this life?

Are there not
highs and lows
like a pendulum swing
that moves to and fro,
back and forth –
and the farther it swings
do you not feel
the balance getting smaller?

And does not nature
provide some models
of how to balance
the extremes that
are thrown in its way?

You visualize the tree –
a universal symbol of nature –
with its roots far below,
anchoring the tree
into mother earth,
the limbs reaching high
up to the sky, the sun –
to bring life to the tree.
And the sturdy trunk –
the bridge between
limb and root –
does not the trunk
connect the opposite
parts of the tree –
providing the balance
for the tree to stand –
able to sway when
the strong winds blow,
being flexible,
yet holding its ground?

As the extremes of life,
like strong winds that blow,
seek to lash out
and move you off
your place of center,
your balance of peace –
can you sense your roots
far down into the ground –
your limbs reach up,
getting light from above
and you are supported
from your trunk-
the balance that holds
you steady and strong,
being flexible,
yet holding your ground.

And does not duality
show you where
the balance is –
as you find your center
in the black and white,
light and dark,
up and down
world you live in?

As the yin yang symbol
represents
the coming together
of the opposites –
are you not a perfect
mixture of
human and soul –
finding your center,
the trunk of your tree –
as you become the
Balance of Life?

Balance.
Center.
Breathe.
Peace.
You Are.
