In the quiet,
in the still,
can you sense
the rhythm
of your breath,
your heart beats
in time
for you to feel
You,
in the quiet,
in the still.
And these quieting
times
need not be
in absolute silence,
sitting,
meditating,
can you not take
a moment here,
a breath of air,
even when driving
somewhere,
can you pause
to center,
to come back to
You,
in the quiet,
in the still.
And though your
mind,
may not ever feel
still,
is there not space
between
the thoughts that
fill,
may you find Peace
in this Space of
You,
let this Peace,
with Love,
tell you
All Is Well,
your breath,
your heart,
beat the Rhythm
of You –
in the quiet,
in the still.
Sandy — I am often deeply touched by your poems. I don’t know how you keep doing it! This one, “In the Quiet” was quite evocative for me. I am going on a silent retreat soon, and I look forward to “being in the quiet, in the still.” I am also reminded that I don’t really need to go to a silent retreat to find this space. Thanks, once again, for this very lovely project of yours. I am in awe and, once again, am deeply touched.
