Comfort Signs

1/26/17

A storm brews.

Are there not
atmospheric pressures
building –
putting conditions
into place,
for warm air
to intersect with cold
causing temperatures
to plummet –
the wind increases
adding pressure
to the already
unstable atmosphere –
bringing moisture
to the air.

And when the build-up
reaches a tipping point
and clouds are ready
to burst –
does not the steady rain
bring water that is
needed on the earth –
the rhythmic sound
even brings comfort
when you listen
to the rain,
but did there not
have to be conditions
present for the
rain to fall?

And once the storm is over
is there not a
clearing calm?
As you emerge from
your place of shelter
and smell the cleansing air,
do you not marvel
when you see blue sky
as the covering
of clouds recede
allowing in a ray
of sunlight?

And is this not an opportunity –
with the sun reflecting on
the remnants of the moisture,
the storm that now is gone –
is this not when
you may see
a rainbow form above –
arching over the
once-explosive atmosphere –
saying,
now,
All Is Calm,
All Is Well.

Can you be the Beam of Light
that shines through the clouds?
Can you be the calm
before,
during,
and after a storm?
Can you be a sign of comfort
that can be seen
both far and wide?

Can you Be a Messenger of Love?
All Is Calm.
All Is Well.
All Is Love.

You Are.
All Are
Love.

Balance of Life

20170123-xpicture

1/23/17

Black and white.
Light and dark.
Up and down.
And does not
the yin yang symbol
represent the balance
of duality
that exists in this life?

Are there not
highs and lows
like a pendulum swing
that moves to and fro,
back and forth –
and the farther it swings
do you not feel
the balance getting smaller?

And does not nature
provide some models
of how to balance
the extremes that
are thrown in its way?

You visualize the tree –
a universal symbol of nature –
with its roots far below,
anchoring the tree
into mother earth,
the limbs reaching high
up to the sky, the sun –
to bring life to the tree.
And the sturdy trunk –
the bridge between
limb and root –
does not the trunk
connect the opposite
parts of the tree –
providing the balance
for the tree to stand –
able to sway when
the strong winds blow,
being flexible,
yet holding its ground?

As the extremes of life,
like strong winds that blow,
seek to lash out
and move you off
your place of center,
your balance of peace –
can you sense your roots
far down into the ground –
your limbs reach up,
getting light from above
and you are supported
from your trunk-
the balance that holds
you steady and strong,
being flexible,
yet holding your ground.

And does not duality
show you where
the balance is –
as you find your center
in the black and white,
light and dark,
up and down
world you live in?

As the yin yang symbol
represents
the coming together
of the opposites –
are you not a perfect
mixture of
human and soul –
finding your center,
the trunk of your tree –
as you become the
Balance of Life?

Balance.
Center.
Breathe.
Peace.
You Are.

Respond With Love

1/20/17

Action.
Re-action.

Yes, there are physical laws
that can occur
when matter is compressed
and released –
action and reaction,
cause and effect,
but for every human action,
must there be
an equal and opposite
re-action?

And do not the words –
“equal” and “opposite” –
magnify the duality
and comparative nature
of life on earth?

When you think of
human emotion –
that can be reactive
in nature,
must there always be
a reaction that
equals an action?

Do not reactions
tend to take in
the energy and force
of an action
that is often perceived
as an attack
or affront –
thus justifying
an immediate re-action?

Are not reactions
often thought of
as reflexive in nature –
as the term
“knee-jerk” reaction
would imply?

Yes, there are situations
in the physical world
where quick reactions
and instant reflexes
will keep you out of
physical harm’s way –
but have not
actions and re-actions
brought you to
a state of polarity
when every action
is indeed met with
an equal or greater reaction?

If you have become
oppositional in nature,
have you forgotten
there is no opposite
to Love?

Can you call in Love,
your true Nature,
to see the bigger picture –
that Love Is an energy
that need not have an action
to feel its force –
can you feel
this Force of Love
that surrounds and encases
all of the actions
and reactions –
bouncing off
this Bubble of Love
that surrounds you all?

When you choose to
respond with Love –
does not Love
absorb and transmute –
converting an action
into an opportunity
to not react –
but respond with Love?

Is it not a beautiful sight
to see the
reactions to Love?

Begin with Love.
Respond with Love.
Soften the blow of actions
with Love.

With Love,
There Is –
Peace.

Stillness of Peace

20170114-xpicture

1/14/17

The road to Peace
is steady
and still –
like driving on
a near-deserted road,
driving at night –
when the night
envelopes you with
its star-studded blanket
and you drive on –
freeing your mind,
not looking for
your destination,
just happy to be
right where you are –
in the still of the night.

And is that not
a way to think
about the stillness of Peace –
that is not always still –
as your car rolls along,
past painted white lines
that beat a steady rhythm
as they tic tic by –
yes you notice
you are moving –
but it is movement
with no rush,
no hurry to get
where you are going –
is there not Peace
that flows
in this moving solitude –
when your mind is free
to dance with the stars
while your body
is content to
hold the wheel?

Is Peace not found
in this balance of
earth and sky –
within your body
and your spirit –
when both can work together
to find the stillness
in the movement,
it is not a paradox –
it is where Peace lives
and You Are That.

Peace lies within You.
It is not a destination –
it is a state of mind;
when your mind
is free to be
Who You Are –
no matter
Where You Are.

You Are Peace –
for You Are Love.
Be in the
moving solitude
of Peace.

The Pond

20170103-xpicture

1/03/17

A frog in a pond,
sits on a lily pad –
and what if he
wants to get
from here to there –
to cross the pond,
or move to
get a different
perspective?

Does frog not
begin to hop
from one pad to the next –
at each stop,
does he look to see
where the next pad
may be –
his next landing point
on his Journey to There –
does he wait for
the ripples of water
to move the pads
to where he thinks
they should be?

Or does frog begin
to hop to the
next pad near
and to one after that;
does he look up then
and see where
they have led him?

Are there not an
infinite number of ways
to get from here
to there or
wherever you wish
to journey in this
experience of life?

Have you not
experienced times
when you looked up
and wondered,
“How did I get to
this spot here?”
Have you not been
following the lily pads
as they appear –
taking you on a Journey?

And if you wish
to change direction,
are there not ripples
that you create
that will help to mark
a new direction
that you wish to follow?

And on your
Pond of Possibility –
can you enjoy watching
the path unfold –
as there is no right
or wrong way to turn?

And as frog must feel
content at times
to sit and look around
at the beauty and the
peacefulness of a pond –
might you pause
to reflect and enjoy
being exactly
Where You Are?

Are you not
Where You Are –
right now?

As You Are Love
in every moment –
may you feel the
Peace of be-ing
Where You Are –
in the Pond of Possibility
of You.
